Google launches Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL starting at ,099

Google has launched the Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL, with pre-orders opening now and shipments scheduled to begin on August 20.

The Pixel 11 Pro starts at $1,099 and the Pro XL starts at $1,299. Both base models come with 256GB of storage and 12GB of RAM, with 512GB and 1TB storage options also available.

Google said the phones are its most durable Pixel models so far. The devices use a spacecraft-grade aluminum frame, Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, and a coating that Google said makes the display twice as scratch-resistant as previous models.

Both phones run on Google’s Tensor G6 chip. Google said the processor delivers 20% better power efficiency than the G5 and was designed to handle AI tasks such as live translation with low lag.

The Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL include a redesigned camera bar with edge-to-edge glass. The bar also includes ambient LED lights called HiLight, which provide visual alerts.

The HiLight system works with Flip to Shhh, a feature that activates Do Not Disturb mode when the phone is placed face down. HiLight can still signal incoming calls from Favorite Contacts, including WhatsApp calls, and can show different LED colors for specific contacts.

Google also said HiLight pulses when Gemini is listening, processing or responding. The company is bundling six months of Google AI Pro with the devices, down from the one-year offer it provided with the Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL.

The AI Pro subscription costs $20 per month and includes access to advanced Gemini models and 2TB of cloud storage. The phones are available in Canyon, Olive, Fog and Matte Obsidian.

Both models have a 50-megapixel main camera with a new 1/1.3-inch sensor, a 48-megapixel ultra-wide camera with autofocus, and a 48-megapixel telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom. Google said the telephoto lens lets in 32% more light than the previous version, while its Pro Zoom AI can produce images equivalent to 120x zoom.

The rear camera system records video in 8K at 24 or 30 frames per second. The front-facing camera is 48 megapixels and supports 4K video recording.

The Pixel 11 Pro has a 6.3-inch display with a resolution of 1,280 x 2,856 pixels, while the Pro XL has a 6.8-inch display with a resolution of 1,344 x 2,992 pixels. Both screens support 1Hz to 120Hz refresh rates and peak brightness of 3,600 nits.
