Google unveils Pixel 11 Pro Fold starting at ,899

Google unveiled the Pixel 11 Pro Fold at its Made by Google event, pricing the foldable phone at $1,899 with shipments and in-store availability set for August 20.

Pre-orders are open now, and Google priced the rest of the Pixel 11 lineup at $899 for the Pixel 11, $1,099 for the Pixel 11 Pro and $1,299 for the Pixel 11 Pro XL. All four base models cost $100 more than the prior generation.

The Pixel 11 Pro Fold has an 8-inch internal Super Actua Flex OLED display and a 6.5-inch front OLED screen. Google said both can reach 3,600 nits of brightness and are 20% brighter than the Pixel 10 Pro Fold.

Google said the new foldable is nearly 10% lighter, 1 mm thinner and three times stronger than the previous model, based on internal testing with pre-production devices. Folded, the device is 10.1 mm thick, 3 inches wide and 6.1 inches tall, and unfolded it is 5.9 inches wide.

The phone has a composite back, scratch-resistant glass, a redesigned hinge and an IP68 water and dust resistance rating. It comes in obsidian or olive with a gray satin metal frame.

The device runs on Google’s Tensor G6 processor with 16 GB of RAM and storage options of 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB. Google said the Tensor G6 improves power efficiency by 20%, browsing speeds by 25% and app load times by 15% compared with the Tensor G5.

The rear camera system includes a 48-megapixel main lens, a 10.5-megapixel ultrawide lens and a 10.8-megapixel 5x telephoto lens with 30x Super Zoom. Google said the main camera uses a 1/1.56-inch sensor that captures 56% more light than the prior model.

The Pixel 11 Pro Fold supports 4K video recording at 24, 30 and 60 frames per second. It also includes a 10-megapixel selfie camera and a 10-megapixel interior camera, both capable of recording 4K video at 30 or 60 frames per second.

Google said battery life exceeds 24 hours under its testing. The phone supports 30W wired charging for up to 50% charge in 30 minutes and Qi2.2 magnetic wireless charging at up to 25W.

New software features include HiLight, which uses LED notifications on the back of the phone for calls from favorite contacts and Gemini responses while the device is face-down in Flip to Shhh mode. Google also said the Pixel 11 line adds voice-to-text features, a sign-language-to-text model in Gboard and Live Transcribe with American Sign Language support at launch, and Gemini tools that can surface booking details, place grocery or meal orders, book rideshares and call businesses in the United States.

Google is bundling a six-month Google AI Pro trial with the Pixel 11 Pro Fold. Google Assistant will be fully replaced by Gemini in September, the company said.
