Anthropic raises b series F, valuation at 3b

Anthropic successfully completed a $13 billion Series F funding round. This substantial investment elevates the company’s post-money valuation to $183 billion. The capital infusion, as stated by Anthropic, will be strategically allocated to expanding enterprise adoption, furthering safety research initiatives, and facilitating international expansion efforts.

The Series F round was co-led by Iconiq, Fidelity Management & Research Company, and Lightspeed Venture Partners, as detailed in the company’s official blog post. The funding also garnered support from a diverse group of institutional investors. This includes venture capital firms, sovereign wealth funds, private equity firms, and asset management companies. Prominent participants in the round were Altimeter, Baillie Gifford, BlackRock, Blackstone, Coatue, D1 Capital Partners, Insight Partners, Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, and Qatar Investment Authority, among others.

Krishna Rao, Chief Financial Officer of Anthropic, emphasized the significance of the funding round. “We are seeing exponential growth in demand across our entire customer base,” Rao stated in the company’s blog post. He added, “This financing demonstrates investors’ extraordinary confidence in our financial performance and the strength of their collaboration with us to continue fueling our unprecedented growth.” This statement underscores the company’s positive trajectory and the confidence investors have in its future prospects.

Prior to this Series F round, Anthropic had raised $3.5 billion in March 2025, which placed the company’s post-money valuation at $61.5 billion. Reports also circulated indicating that Anthropic was in discussions to raise between $3 billion and $5 billion at a valuation of $170 billion. The current funding round follows a period of significant growth for Anthropic, with annual recurring revenue increasing from $1 billion to $5 billion throughout 2025. This growth was attributed to increased API usage and broader enterprise adoption of the company’s AI solutions.

Anthropic currently serves over 300,000 business customers, the company reported. The number of large accounts, defined as those generating over $100,000 in run-rate revenue, has increased nearly sevenfold in the past year. Claude Code, Anthropic’s developer-focused product, is also contributing significantly to the company’s revenue. It currently generates more than $500 million in run-rate revenue, with usage increasing more than tenfold in the last three months.

Dario Amodei, CEO of Anthropic, acknowledged the challenges of sustaining growth and competition in the AI sector. In a memo reported by Wired, Amodei expressed reservations about accepting investments from sovereign wealth funds associated with dictatorial governments. However, he noted the practical difficulties of excluding certain investors to maintain business operations. This statement reveals the complex considerations involved in securing funding while adhering to ethical principles.
