Telecommunications giant MTN Nigeria has unveiled Y’ello Y’Fi, an enterprise Wi-Fi and intelligence system created to equip local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with vital digital capabilities, allowing them to better decode consumer habits, preferences, and visit patterns.
Announced in an official company release, the new platform delivers instant visitor analytics so emerging enterprises can refine their marketing campaigns, cultivate customer loyalty, and foster stronger community connections. Rather than simply offering complimentary internet at a cost, businesses can transform their public access points into commercial assets by gathering actionable data, overseeing connected hardware, publishing targeted promotions, and tailoring login portals to match their brand identity.
The system monitors practical footfall metrics, including visitor counts, Wi-Fi adoption rates, return visit frequency, and dwell times. Armed with these insights, business owners can distribute customized discount codes, launch sales initiatives, and elevate overall customer satisfaction.
Addressing the launch, MTN Nigeria’s Chief Enterprise Business Officer, Lynda Saint-Nwafor, noted that mere connectivity is no longer sufficient for local businesses striving to stay competitive. She emphasized that enterprise owners require practical instruments to make informed choices, deepen patronage, and access modern digital systems tailored to the day-to-day realities of the Nigerian marketplace.
Beyond data analytics, Y’ello Y’Fi resolves widespread network bottlenecks. Standard guest internet often hogs bandwidth and creates security risks for internal enterprise operations. The new system mitigates this by isolating employee activity from visitor traffic through distinct access channels. Network administrators can also establish bandwidth thresholds for guests, safeguarding office internet performance and hardening internal defenses.
Compatible with MTN’s 5G Tozed X25 and X100 broadband devices, the service is accessible as an add-on for existing enterprise clients or as a turnkey package for new subscribers, complete with hardware, dedicated internet allowances, and full software access.
This rollout follows MTN’s recent introduction of its FlyX broadband solution, an alternative to its FibreX FTTH network that leverages 4G and 5G cellular technologies to deliver high-speed, unlimited connectivity to residential and corporate users nationwide.
