Meta announced on Tuesday the launch of “Your Algorithm” on Facebook, an AI-powered feature that lets users describe the content they want recommended in Feed and Reels.
Users can enter natural-language prompts to specify topics and types of content they want to see more or less often, rather than relying entirely on automated recommendations.
Meta said the feature is designed to make recommendations more relevant. Users can adjust preferences for the algorithms that rank and recommend posts, with changes reflected in recommendations in real time.
The company also updated Facebook’s three-dot menu so users can manage content preferences directly from individual posts. The menu provides access to “Your Algorithm” and the “Interested” and “Not interested” options for feedback on particular content.
Meta said Facebook may ask follow-up questions to better understand what users liked or disliked. Users can provide more detailed explanations of what they want to see more or less of, allowing Facebook to refine recommendations based on their responses.
Instagram first launched “Your Algorithm” for Reels in December 2025 and expanded it to Feed and Explore in June.
Threads also introduced a related feature, “Dear Algo,” that allows users to influence the content recommended to them.
