TikTok said it is adding voice comments, comment polls and expanded photo reply tools, with some features available now and others rolling out over the next month.
Users aged 18 and older will soon be able to post voice comments under videos, with each message capped at 60 seconds and playable by other users.
TikTok said the voice comment feature will begin rolling out over the next month. Creators can now create comment polls on their posts, with up to five response options and results visible directly in the comment section.
TikTok said the comment poll feature is already available to users globally.
The company had previously tested polling through stickers and during live broadcasts before launching the current version in comments.
TikTok also said users can now upload live photos from their camera roll in comments.
Those live photos include a short span of motion and sound captured immediately before and after the shutter button is pressed.
The platform is also increasing the number of photos users can attach to a single comment. TikTok said users will be able to post up to nine images in one carousel-style comment over the next month.
The updates follow other recent additions on TikTok, including the ability to book travel services directly through the app and a local feed based on a user’s location.
