Google adds flight tracking and hotel booking to AI Mode

Google is adding trip-planning tools to AI Mode in Search, including flight price tracking, hotel booking and fare displays in miles or points.

The flight price tracker is available starting today in all locations and languages where AI Mode is offered, except countries and territories in the European Economic Area.

Google said users can tell AI Mode where and when they want to fly, and the chatbot will show options from more than 300 airlines and travel sites.

Users who ask AI Mode to track fares will receive email alerts when prices change for their destination and travel dates, Google said.

AI Mode can also show the cost of flights in miles and hotels in reward points after users enter their travel details.

Google said that feature initially supports flights from Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines, as well as American Airlines, and hotels from Choice Hotels International, Hilton and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.

Support for Accor, Flying Blue, Hyatt, LATAM Airlines and Lufthansa Group is coming soon, Google said.

Google is also preparing to let users book hotels through AI Mode after entering trip details and preferences.

The booking tool will show hotel options and guest reviews, and users will be able to complete reservations with Google Pay.

That hotel booking feature will initially launch in the United States in English and will work with partner sites including Expedia, Marriott International and Priceline. Google said it plans to roll it out in the coming weeks.
