To get your Namecheap API key, you will need to log into your account and navigate to the
Profile section, but the correct submenu is Tools, not “Manage Profile”.
Here are the specific steps:
- Log in to your Namecheap account.
- Click on Profile from the left-side menu.
- Select Tools from the submenu.
- Scroll down to the Business & Dev Tools section.
- Click the MANAGE button next to “Namecheap API Access”.
- Enable the API by toggling it ON, agreeing to the Terms of Service, and entering your account password.
- After you enable access, your API key will be displayed.
- You must also whitelist at least one IPv4 address before the API key will work. You can do this in the same “Namecheap API Access” section.
Important requirements
- To enable API access on the production environment, your account must meet certain requirements, such as having at least $50 in your account balance or having spent at least $50 within the last two years.
- You can test the API in a sandbox environment without meeting these requirements by creating a separate account at
